Choosing Between Console and App Control
LightShark offers two approaches. The LS-1 is a physical console with faders and encoders. The LS-Core and LS-Core IO run the same software but rely on a tablet or phone for the interface. Add an LS-Wing if you want physical faders alongside app control. All three run the same programming environment, so the choice comes down to how you prefer to work and whether you need hardware at front of house.
Distribution and Nodes
Once you've chosen a control surface, you'll need DMX distribution to connect it to your fixtures. LightShark Nodes convert network data to DMX and RDM, available in one-, two-, four- and eight-universe versions. The RDM 4 and RDM X models focus on fixture management and monitoring. GLP's iQ.Tool and Nexus Bridge handle network routing and fixture configuration for GLP products. MEGA-Lite drivers are designed for their own architectural and effects lighting.
What Works With What
- LightShark consoles and cores work with any standard DMX fixture, not just the brands StageKraft distributes
- Rackmount kits are available for the LS-1, LS-Core IO and standard 19-inch racks
- DARKE flight cases and foam inserts are made specifically for the LS-1 and LS-Wing
- Wall panels let you trigger presets without opening the full control interface
If you're not sure which combination suits your install or touring rig, the sales team can talk through fixture counts, network layout and what belongs in the rack. Fixture profiles are available on request for programming.
