How to Choose a Fresnel

Start with the throw distance and coverage area. If your venue has mixed requirements, consider building a rig with two wattage options for flexibility.

Colour temperature matters. TW models offer tunable white so you can shift from warm to cool within one fixture. WW gives you fixed warm white, ideal when you need consistent tungsten-style light. FC models provide full colour control for creative applications and multi-use spaces.

What Works with Fresnels

Pair these fixtures with barn doors or accessories for beam shaping. Control comes from lighting consoles or app-based systems; LightShark controllers integrate easily with DMX-enabled models. Add haze or atmospheric effects to make the beam visible and sculptural on stage.

  • DMX cables and distribution for fixture control
  • Clamps and safety wire for rigging
  • Haze machines to define the beam path
  • Lighting bars or truss for overhead mounting

Who Uses These Fixtures

Concert touring crews rely on fresnels for back wash and side light. Theatres use them for front-of-house positions and stage washes. Broadcast and film teams choose them for controllable key and fill. Houses of worship install them for platform lighting that adapts to different services. Architectural integrators specify them where smooth coverage and adjustable spill are required.
